Information on Indonesia National Jamboree 2006.

National Jamboree 2006, Indonesia

16th – 23rd July 2006

Event: National Jamboree 2006, Indonesia

When: 16 – 23 July 2006

Participants are requested to arrive in the Jamboree site on 15 July and may leave on 24 July.

Theme: “One heart, one promise, one motherland”.

Host: Kwartir Nasional Gerakan Pramuka

Eligibility: For Scouts between the ages of 11 and 15 who are members of Scout Association of Malaysia.

Where: Kiarapayung Campsite, Jatinangor, Sumedang Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. The Jamboree Site is located approx. 206 kms from capital city, Jakarta and approx. 25 kms from Bandung, the capital city of West Java Province. It takes about 3-4 hours from Jakarta to the Jamboree Site by bus or train.

Cost: RM 1500 per person approximately plus airfare from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta, Indonesia. This fee covers food rations for 10 days, transportation from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta to and from the Jamboree site, accommodation in tents, Jamboree souvenirs (scarf, badge, handbook, etc) and activities. Sleeping bag and personal camping equipment should be brought by the participants.

Home Hospitality Home hospitality is available if requested.

Visa: Strongly advise each participant to contact the nearest Indonesian Embassy or Consulate to check if it is necessary to obtain an entry visa. Participants from ASEAN countries may come to Indonesia without entry visa if they will stay not longer than 14 days.

Jamboree Services: All essential services including Jamboree hospital, banking, postal and communication facilities will be available at the Jamboree site.

A variety of scout activities is provided for the Jamboree participants,

such as:-

General Activities; such as religious services, physical exercises, traditional games and songs, Campfire, discussions and interactive dialogues on culture and civics, visit to the exhibition etc.

Skill Activities; such as technology, traditional handicrafts, multi-media, leadership, agriculture etc.

Adventure activities; such as white water rafting, river exploration, rowing, rock climbing, mountain climbing, caving, tracking, hiking, orienteering, etc.

Community service activities; such as environment cleaning, diseases prevention, adolescent reproductive health, family mapping, etc.

Cultural activities; such as cultural performances, carnival, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Night, film show etc.
