Link: http://ecologyasia.com/There are now over 200 species of Southeast Asia's vertebrates - mammals, reptiles, amphibians and freshwater fishes - featured in the Eco-focus section. Lately a small corner of this website has been set aside for Papua New Guinea, a country with great diversity lying just to the east of Asia, and a place which Nick Baker privileged to occasionally visit.
The Eco-news section is still ongoing - there you'll find thousands of cloned news articles dating back to 2001. He know from feedback that this somewhat incomplete resource has been a boon to many school students in their environmental studies.
Over the years Nick has been fortunate to visit many great natural places around Southeast Asia : some of these are presented in the Eco-location section.
What will 2007 bring? Hopefully the very real threats of global warming and species loss will be grasped more fully by the entrenched world 'leaders' who seem to have their heads in the sand. If you're looking for inspiration don't turn to them, instead you should join up with your local nature conservation network to meet real people trying to make a real difference.
