The 43 years old Dunearn scout troop is one of the oldest uniformed group in Dunearn. To be exact, it was founded in 1963 and was known as the Chincalok 2211. Since then, out activities have remained varied and frequent.

For many years, the scout troop has served to build up discipline and strengthen the leadership qualities of our scouts. They have devoted much of their attention in doing public duties at various national meets and functions. Besides that, our boys never failed to attend camps and hiking activities not forgetting the regular Saturday meetings. We feel the need to thank our GSL Mr Rabindran and his capable assistants in the past, namely Ms Yeo Piay Koon, Ms Janet Tan, Ms Theresa and last but not least Mr Tham Po Man, for upholding and preserving the glorified scout troop of Dunearn.

The Cuon Scouts Troop is a school-based Scouts Group in Singapore, which strives to provide for different age groups- ranging from 13 years old to 21 years old. Cuon Scouts Group has both the Scouts Unit and the Venture Scouts Unit that caters to the diverse interest of youth.

The Cuon Insignia (Badge on the right side)

The Cuon Scouts Badge consists of the World Scouts Emblem with the Cuon superimposed over it. The badge is halved diagonally across, with blue and yellow as the background. The badge is covered with a red border. The World Scouts Insignia signifies the fact that Cuon Scouts Troop is a part of the World Scouting Community.

The Cuon is a symbol of courage and team-spirit, and this is our wish to inculcate these values in all our Scouts.

The badge is halved diagonally across, being equal and balanced. It represents the fact that Cuon Scouts Troop values integrity and dedication, courage and loyalty, equally.

The Blue background symbolizes integrity and dedication. We aspire to produce Scouts of integrity, and always ready to serve the community.

The Yellow background symbolizes courage and loyalty. Always prepared to serve and lead at all times.

The Red border signifies the bond of brotherhood, and esprit-de-corps. It represents that no Scout is alone, preparing the Scouts to be team workers.

The Cuon Scout Troop, was formed through a merging between 2 Scout Units- the Pasir Ris Cuon Scouts Troop and the Greenview Garuda Scouts Unit, in 2003.

Greenview Garuda Scouts Unit

Established in 1996, the Garuda Scouts Unit was set up to provide a greater variety of activities for the students of Greenview Secondary School, as well as a Co-Cirricular Activity.

Although it is a school-based unit, it provided a great amount of activities for the Scouts. In 1998, membership grew to around 20 active boys. However, due to changing of leadership at the adult leaders section, the activities were getting sporadic and membership dropped.

In 1999, the membership was dwindling, and Greenview Garuda Scouts Unit had difficulties in training, and therefore look towards it's neighbouring Scout Units to help out with the programmes. In 2000, they found a Scout Unit willing to help out with the events, and the unit is

Pasir Ris Cuon Scout Troop.

With their help, Greenview Garuda Scout Unit managed to stabilised the total number of recruits, and helped to train these boys into Scouts. In the year 2001, several Senior Patrol Leaders worked with the members of the Pasir Ris Cuon Scout Troop to organise several activities, and this in turn strengthened the alliance between 2 units.

Cuon Scouts Troop

Initially , the leaders of Pasir Ris Cuon Scouts Troop turned to newer schools to re-establish the Scouts Unit. However, it was unsuccessful.

In the year 2002, a proposal was submitted to merged 2 existing Scout Units into a Scout Unit that is more dynamic, versatile, and one that can handle challenges more effectively.

Finally in 2003, Pasir Ris Cuon Scouts Troop merged with Greenview Garuda Scout Unit , and is now known as Cuon Scout Troop.
